In a significant step and a turning point, the government significantly increased allocation for the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, taking clean energy outlay to nearly rupees 40,000 crore, well, an immense increase of nearly 40% over the previous year’s budget allocation. Now, this growth was not merely symbolic, but it was intended and meant to accelerate India’s advancement on the way to its long-term net-zero mark by 2070.

Additionally, new financial support was provided to the National Green Hydrogen Mission, which added to strengthening India’s ambitions to become a global hub for green hydrogen production and export. The budget also recognised that clean energy is not just about generation, but also about manufacturing and the supply chain. Increased necessities were allocated to support the domestic production of solar components, battery loading systems, and the processing of essential mineral deposits, solidifying India’s energy security. These funds were also set aside for carbon capture, utilisation, and storage (CCUS) expertise, reassuring industries to reduce emissions while maintaining output.
Importantly, policy discussion emphasised mainly grid modernisation and energy storage expansion, in order to integrate increasing renewable capacity into the nationwide network. So, by merging financial and fiscal backing, engineering incentives, and climate focused Modifications, the Union Budget 2026- 27 Green energy Sector is positioned not as a similar outline, but as a backbone of India’s economic revolution where sustainability and development move together.
