In a shocking development, Mumbai police have arrested Sohel Pasha, the lyricist for Bollywood star Salman Khan’s upcoming movie, after he allegedly sent a death threat to the actor. The arrest came after police traced a threatening message sent to Khan on November 7, demanding a ransom of INR 5 crore or else, the sender claimed, he would kill both Khan and Pasha himself.
The investigation took an unusual turn when police tracked the message to a phone belonging to Venkatesh Narayanan, a man residing in Raichur, Karnataka. However, Narayanan informed police that he didn’t even use WhatsApp, as he only had a basic phone. He further explained that he had briefly lent his phone to a stranger who requested it to contact his family. This revelation led authorities to identify Sohel Pasha as the suspect.
Upon being taken into custody, Pasha confessed to sending the threatening message. According to police, he admitted that his motivation was a desperate attempt to gain publicity for his song, “Main Sikandar Hun,” from Salman Khan’s upcoming film. Pasha reportedly wanted to leverage the attention that threats against the high-profile actor had recently received, believing that associating his name in this way would bring him fame.
The incident has raised concerns over the lengths to which individuals may go to gain recognition in the entertainment industry. Authorities have reminded the public that misuse of digital platforms for such purposes will be met with legal consequences, as the investigation continues to unfold.
