Goa: At the recently concluded India Energy Week, Satish Ingavale, Managing Director, John Crane India, engaged with media to discuss India’s evolving energy landscape and the critical role of advanced engineering solutions in supporting the country’s growth ambitions.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Ingavale emphasised that India’s energy transition must balance three key priorities — energy security, sustainability, and affordability. With India positioning itself as a global energy hub, he noted that investments across oil & gas, refining, LNG, and emerging fuels such as hydrogen are creating significant opportunities for technology-driven companies.
He highlighted that as infrastructure expands and energy systems become more complex, reliability and efficiency will be central to ensuring safe and uninterrupted operations. “As India scales both conventional and new energy capacities, the focus must be on reducing downtime, improving asset performance, and integrating advanced sealing and rotating equipment technologies that enhance operational resilience,” he shared during discussions.
Mr. Ingavale also pointed to the increasing role of digitalisation, predictive maintenance, and lifecycle optimisation in modern energy facilities. According to him, innovation is not limited to clean energy alone — it is equally critical in making existing infrastructure more efficient and environmentally responsible.
India Energy Week brought together policymakers, global energy leaders, and technology providers to deliberate on future-ready solutions.
