Pratik Gandhi Lauds Laalo’s Extraordinary Rise, Says the Film’s Journey Inspired Him Deeply

“They didn’t know whether it would be released or not, but somewhere there was confidence and hope” – Pratik Gandhi on Laalo’s journey to 100 crores

Celebrated actor Pratik Gandhi has praised the phenomenal rise of Laalo – Krishna Sada Sahaayate, calling its success story one of the most inspiring chapters in regional cinema. As the first-ever Gujarati film to cross the ₹100-crore mark, Laalo has not only created history but has also left a lasting impact on artists across industries — including Pratik himself.

Reflecting on the film’s journey, he shared, “I’m just talking about a Gujarati film recently. It is the first-ever Gujarati film to cross 100 crores of all time, Laalo. That whole team — the director is a first-time director who has been a clapper boy for many years and has assisted others. The confidence I saw in them made me think that we keep wondering about every little thing — will it happen or not, how will it happen, will we do it or not.” He further revealed how adversity shadowed the project at every step. “They had no idea whether the film would be made or not. Half of the film was made, then they took money from their friends, and gradually they were able to make the film. Even after it was made, they didn’t know whether it would be released or not. But somewhere there was confidence and hope that something good would happen, and they released the film,” he said.

The actor also recalled how the film’s theatrical run began with uncertainty before turning into a historic breakthrough. “For three, four, five, even six weeks, the film was not doing anything. They were not even getting shows. In the end, there were just three shows left, and suddenly the film picked up. It went on to cross 100 crores for the first time ever in the history of Gujarati films. So, a big shout-out to the entire team — it gave me a lot of hope.”
