JBG Satara Hill Half Marathon Returns with its 14th Edition – Calls Runners to Go ‘Back to Roots’

Event Date: Sunday, 14th September 2025

Satara, Maharashtra – The JBG Satara Hill Half Marathon, powered by Mala’s (JBG SHHM), is set to return with its 14th edition on September 14, 2025. Organised by volunteers of the Satara Runners Foundation (SRF), the run is recognised worldwide for its challenging route, scenic setting and strong community spirit.

This year’s theme, “Back to Roots – Run • Reconnect • Rediscover • Rewild”, draws from the origins of movement and the idea of reconnecting with nature and self. The official theme T-shirt and medal designs, inspired by Warli art and tribal motifs, were unveiled in Satara in the presence of Collector Shri Santosh Patil, SP Shri Tushar Doshi, Mr. Gaurav Jajodia (Jai Balaji Group), Mr. Hussain Mala (Mala’s Fruit Products), Ms. Meena Dave (India Cares Foundation), and Mr. Nishant & Mrs. Shraddha Maheshwari (Sportiz & Endura 101).

As part of the launch, 8 school principals were felicitated, marking the start of JBG SHHM’s philanthropy initiative with India Cares Foundation. The project will equip 8 schools in and around Satara with sports equipment, directly benefiting over 1,000 children.

Dr. Sandeep Kate, Founder of SRF, said:
“When we started this in 2012, we simply wanted to make Satara healthier. Today, SHHM is a movement. This year’s theme reflects our belief that running is most fulfilling when you stay grounded. Helping children play is as important as helping them study.”

Collector Shri Santosh Patil: “Satara was once the capital of the Maratha Empire and is now known as the Rajdhani of Marathon Running.”
SP Shri Tushar Doshi: “JBG SHHM is now a fitness movement. I will run 21K along with many Police officers from across the state.”
Race Director Dr. Avinash Shinde: “This event is built by the community. Our new platform and practice runs keep runners at the centre of everything.”
Mr. Gaurav Jajodia, Jai Balaji Group: “The partnership with SHHM is deeply rewarding. To see thousands run with such pride under the JBG banner is a privilege.”
Mr. Hussain Mala, Mala’s Fruit Products: “SHHM is powered by passion, much like Mala’s. We are proud to fuel it again.”
Mr. Punit Balan, Punit Balan Group: “SHHM is more than a race; from the expo to the finish line, it adds vibrancy to Indian running.”
