Gwalior, December 04nd, 2025: BML Munjal University (BMU), a Hero Group initiative, in collaboration with Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya (SKV), Gwalior, successfully concluded the SKV BML Saakshya Moot Court Competition 2025, an international-level platform designed to nurture early legal reasoning, advocacy, and constitutional thinking among school students. Held on 28–29 November 2025 at Scindia Kanya Vidyalaya, the event brought together 138 student participants, 46 teams, and 60 educators from over 25 distinguished partner schools across India and abroad.
This year’s moot problem revolved around the fictional Republic of Gondor, where students were required to examine the constitutional validity of Section 75 of the Gondor Factories Act, a provision that restricts women from working at night. The case raised critical constitutional issues relating to equality under Article 14, prohibition of discrimination under Article 15, freedom of trade and occupation under Article 19(1)(g), and the right to livelihood under Article 21. Participants were challenged to analyse the law through the lens of gender justice, constitutional morality and contemporary labour rights, reflecting the kind of nuanced reasoning expected before constitutional courts in India.
The competition commenced with an inspiring opening ceremony addressed by Prof. Alka Chawla, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, as Chief Guest, and Mr. Arun Chawla, Director General, Indian Council of Arbitration (ICA) and Former Director General, FICCI, as Guest of Honour.
