Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon Share Concerns Over Deepfake Videos Amidst Film Promotion

In a recent promotional event for their upcoming film “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” Bollywood stars Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon voiced their opinions on the increasing prevalence of deepfake videos on the internet.

Shahid Kapoor, reflecting on the phenomenon, emphasized that human behavior is at the core of the issue. He stated, “Human beings are themselves the problem. We are pushing the blame on AI. We keep projecting something else on social media that is not a reality and keep comparing reality with what we see on social media, leading one into depression. That is the truth.”

Kapoor added that humanity’s quest for an alternate reality aligns with the essence of AI. Drawing parallels to the film, he highlighted the distinction between the man-made and the divine, suggesting this theme is subtly woven into “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.”

Meanwhile, Kriti Sanon expressed her concern regarding deepfake videos, noting the alarming rise of morphed content. She acknowledged the rapid progress in technology, mentioning AI-generated news anchors and even speculated about the possibility of AI partners in the future.

“Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” features Kriti Sanon as a robot and Shahid Kapoor as a robotic expert. The film, directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, also stars veteran actors Dharmendra and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles. Fans are eagerly anticipating the unique chemistry between the lead actors as the romantic drama is set to hit theaters on February 9, 2024.

As Kapoor and Sanon navigate the realms of artificial intelligence in their film, their real-life concerns shed light on the broader societal impact of deepfake technology and the blurred lines between reality and the virtual world.
